Bayswater Painters & Decorators

Hotels & serviced apartments

An empty room on the booking calendar is the beginning of a discussion, rather than a complete decorating window. For a small hotel or serviced apartment, preparation, painting, drying, cleaning and inspection all need a place in the plan before the room returns to guests.

Release a room with a complete brief

Provide room numbers or apartment references alongside the requested surfaces. Distinguish a full room repaint from isolated walls, joinery or damage that first needs assessment. Confirm who removes linen, artwork, televisions and movable furniture, and where those items will wait. Note any fixed fittings that remain in place. A room should enter the schedule with its scope agreed and the necessary access available.

Review the finish under guest-room lighting

Put samples beside the headboard, curtains and flooring, using the lamps that will remain after decoration. Consider whether the same wall colour behaves differently in a lower-ground room and an upper-floor apartment. Ask for the selected product and sheen to be recorded as well as the shade. Cleaning requirements and existing finishes should inform that discussion without relying on an unspecified promise of durability.

Coordinate corridors with reception and housekeeping

A corridor instruction affects more than the rooms beside it. Agree the working section, guest circulation and delivery route with the building contact before it starts. Discuss housekeeping trolley movements and the times when room access is needed. Keep keys, entry permissions and daily updates with named people. Any requested working hours must also be checked against the building’s arrangements and the relevant local controls.

Treat return to use as a separate stage

Ask for product-specific drying and return-to-use requirements to be considered before agreeing a booking release. Allow for protection removal, cleaning and the replacement of furnishings, followed by inspection under the usual room lighting. Confirm who accepts the room and updates the booking status. Proposed dates can then be discussed against an actual sequence; no fixed turnaround should be inferred from the word repaint alone.
